What is Inspector?

Inspector is a platform where developers and teams can plan, build, and ship software using AI agents that work locally on your machine. The Workspace unifies projects, team members, AI sessions, and settings into a single collaborative environment.

Core concepts

Workspace—The primary container for projects, team members, AI sessions, and workspace settings.
Project—The main working environment inside a Workspace. Used for managing development work, files, and AI agents.
Team—A group of users sharing a single Workspace with a common Shared Context environment.

Shared Context

Inspector builds the entire development process around a single persistent Shared Context. The AI understands your full project architecture, service dependencies, product requirements, and codebase structure. Frontend, backend, API, and other files are gathered in one space where agents run locally on your machine.

Security

Token-based auth— On first login, the CLI receives an authentication token that is stored securely on your device.
Local execution— All AI agent operations and project data are processed locally on your machine — nothing leaves your device without your action.
Web & CLI— Authentication is handled through both the CLI and the web Inspector dashboard for a seamless experience.
